On the morning of Saturday May 6th, the final series of metal posts were secured into the ground and are made ready for the last 20 of the 100 new trash barrels to be fastened to them. This whole project started in October in a collaboration between the NGO Unidos por Bocas (United for Bocas), local businesses volunteering, sponsoring and donating along with the Bocas del Toro provincial government. United for Bocas, indeed.
Sterling Hopman of Bocas Beach Villas was on the scene volunteering and was able to kindly thank everyone else who volunteered, just in case the reporter couldn’t remember or forgot to write it down (which he did): “A big thanks to those who showed up and helped yesterday: Jeffrey, Mario, Stace, Guillermo, Pamela, Kiwi, Nico and Kathy.”
Thank YOU Sterling and all the lovely volunteers of Unidos por Bocas, as well as the Municipal Government and any business or individual who has contributed to this very necessary initiative.
